What we do
We support and advise companies as they enhance their performance when facing complex and risky situations around the world. With their management teams, we develop the mental models, analytical tools, implementation processes, and organizational cultures required to perform sustainably in an ever-changing business environment.
In today’s world, businesses and organizations continuously face new challenges that test their ability to transform themselves while maintaining their capacity to generate value. For companies to operate successfully in different environments around the world, they need to identify hidden opportunities, assess the diverse risks they face, put in place processes and systems to develop these opportunities and manage and control risks, as well as constantly adapt their operating structures to new situations. Such capacities are grown over time and demand that companies adopt a special way of working -- a culture of experiential learning, risk awareness, and speedy adaptation.
Such a transition can take many years, and is not always successful: new skills and ideas must be adopted, new processes must be designed, and more importantly, old habits and practices must be replaced by new mental models and ways of acting. Managers devote a significant share of their time making these transitions happen in their companies, and are sometimes frustrated by the pace of change.
We support companies through three mutually-reinforcing approaches: first, we develop and deliver workshops that allow a management team to build alignment around specific issues (e.g., global discontinuities, specific risks facing a investment, etc.) and draw specific actions. Second, we develop and deliver learning programs, where we support a team in acquiring and applying specific skill and mindsets (e.g., risk-adjusted project appraisal, stakeholders management, etc.) Finally, we offer targeted advice on specific issues (e.g., risk appraisal) as required.
